Run around Luang Prabang

LUANG PRABANG  To mark its opening, 1 November, Sofitel Luang Prabang has signed on as the “gold sponsor of the Luang Prabang Half Marathon, 18 October.
The event starts with registration and a carbon loading party on the evening of the 17 October.
The course begins and ends in the historic Luang Prabang’s UNESCO Heritage Site, and covers a 21 km route through the town and along roads with scenic views of Nam Khan and Mekong Rivers. It continues to on a route close to the legendary Wat Xieng Thong, Royal Museum and Mount Phousi.
Luang Prabang Half Marathon, runners will be part of fundraising efforts to maintain a pediatric hospital called ‘Lao Friends Hospital for Children’, which provides healthcare to children in Laos (www.fwab.org).
inside no 6The charity donations will also benefit the Lao Girls’ Health Empowerment Project (Eau Laos Solidarite), and Big Brother Mouse, to foster education amongst Luang Prabang’s youth.
