InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort claims two major wins at inaugural World Spa Awards 2015

SINGAPORE - InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced that InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort was crowned Vietnam's Best Hotel Spa and World's Best New Hotel Spa, at the World Spa Awards 2015, held earlier this month.

The resort was also host of the inaugural ceremony and Gala dinner, welcoming over a hundred top hoteliers and well-travelled spa professionals from around the world in the elegant Grand Ballroom of The Summit – the resort’s dedicated events area blending Vietnamese palace design with colonial flavours.

Speaking about the recent win, Iain McCormack, General Manager of InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort said; “We are thrilled to be recognised by the World Spa Awards, which serves as the definitive benchmark for excellence in the spa industry. This recognition is truly a result of the thoughtful, understated service and authentic local experiences we deliver to our guests every day.”

The resort’s HARNN Heritage Spa surpassed 11 other nominees for ‘Vietnam’s Best Hotel Spa 2015’ award, for spas operating within the premises of a luxury hotel or resort. In the ‘World’s Best New Hotel Spa 2015’ category, the resort beat eight other nominees for the prestigious award.

Also named Asia’s Leading Luxury Resort and Vietnam’s Leading Resort at the World Travel Award 2014, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort continues to receive top industry accolades due to its approach to exceptional service and understated luxury.

Opened to guests on 1 June 2012 as the flagship IHG resort in Vietnam, the iconic Bill Bensley-designed InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort redefines luxury in Vietnam. It has received diverse international recognition for its excellent service and beautiful architecture.

IHG currently has six hotels and resorts open in Vietnam across two brands: InterContinental and Crowne Plaza. The company has another eight hotels in the pipeline due to open in the next three to five years.
