TAT supports Asian Organic Gourmet Festival 2015 to promote the tastes of Thainess

BANGKOK – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is supporting the annual Asian Organic Gourmet Festival 2015, which was held from 2 to 4 October, 2015 at the Riva Surya Bangkok, on the banks of the Chao Phraya River.

The three-day event highlighted healthy gourmet dishes especially prepared to mark the event by four famous Thai chefs – Chef Sompong Suksuwan, Chef Satawat Kunarasai, Chef Surasing Viratsakul, and Chef Arnon Masalong. Many interesting activities included live cooking demonstration, healthy bread baking demonstration, farmer’s market outdoor, nutritional talks, healthy dessert making demonstration, and much more.

Organised by Riva Surya Bangkok & SilverNeedle Collection, the event was designed to enhance the development of healthy living along with the art of Thai and Asian cooking within the food and beverage industry. It is set to enable the building of healthy gourmet into the Thai community and to support organic farming community, organic produce sales, and to encourage Thai and expat community to a healthy dining and living as well as promoting Thai and Asian organic cuisine and Thai organic produce.

Mr. Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, TAT’s Executive Director of Advertising and Public Relations Department, delivered the opening speech at the Asian Organic Gourmet Festival 2015.



Mr. Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, TAT’s Executive Director of Advertising and Public Relations Department, said “The Asian Organic Gourmet Festival 2015 indeed coincides with TAT’s Discover Thainess campaign in which the promotion of Thailand’s unique culinary heritage plays a large part alongside the kingdom’s cultural and artistic legacy. Healthy living also forms core part of the Thai way of life; such as, the use of exotic herbs and spices to enrich the flavours and offer nutrition.”

As one of the key advocates of health and organic cuisine, Riva Surya included the first six main menus concocted by the event’s guest chefs at its restaurant for the next three months. Following which, the hotel will create and promote a new organic menu on a monthly basis.

The cooking demonstration, including an organic lunch, coffee and tea, soft drinks, apron, and recipe book is priced at 1,950 Baht net per person. The four-course dinners includes welcome drinks and soft drinks, free flowing wine, coffee and tea, and is priced at 2,500 Bat net per meal and per person. Participation in the afternoon activities and farmer’s market at Riva Surya was free of charge.

Riva Surya Bangkok’s Asian Organic Gourmet Festival Dinner’s revenue was partly donated to FOOD4GOOD program – involving solving the problem of malnutrition among under-privileged children in Thai society.
