Hoi An’s water puppets on show

QUANG NAM  Hoi An offers water puppet performances at World Heritage town’s theatre, located in the Hoi An Culture and Sport Centre.
The performances will be staged from 1830, every Friday and Saturday, with tickets selling at USD3.6 for adults and USD1.8 for children.
The show narrative is in English, French and Vietnamese, according to local media.
The highlights are performances illustrating the daily life of Vietnamese people, such as fishing, folklore tales presented in song, and Apsara dances.

Hoi An was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1999 as an example of a well-preserved trading post that was a port of call for traders from China in 1600s.
Quang Nam is home to three world-renowned attractions – the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary, and the Cu Lao Cham UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve.
During the first seven months of this year, Quang Nam welcomed nearly 1.9 million visitors, of which 1.2 million were domestic tourists.
