Construction work has commenced on a new high-rise tourism complex in Busan which will include the second tallest building in South Korea.
A ground-breaking ceremony has been held for the Haeundae Tourist Resort LCT, which will rise on Busan’s Haeundae Beach.
The development will include the 411-metre-high, 101-storey Landmark Tower building, which will be the second-highest building in Korea by today’s standards, and two 85-storey apartment buildings, named ‘Haeundae LCT The Sharp’.
The project is being developed with a total investment of KRW1.49 trillion (US$1.3 billion) and is expected to be completed by November 2019.
According to developer, POSCO E&C, Haeundae Tourist Resort LCT will feature facilities for “leisure, recreation, shopping and business… [and] an open view of the ocean with Haeundae Beach acting as the front yard”.
