CHIANG RAI Thai Lion Air will increase flights on the Bangkok-Chiang Rai route to four daily starting 25 October.
The peak season for travel to North Thailand kicked in, last week. Most flights are packed as travellers take advantage of the cooler weather.
Chiang Rai is served by five airlines. THAI Smile and Bangkok Airways from Suvarnabhumi and Nok Air, Thai AirAsia and Thai Lion from Don Mueang.
inside-no-1.1inside no 1The airline sets a one-way fare from Bangkok to Chiang Rai starting at THB425. The fare includes taxes and surcharges including a free baggage allowance 15 kg, sports equipment allowance of 15 kg, seat selection and an inflight snack.
In comparison, Thai AirAsia sells its lowest inclusive one-way fare on the route at THB790, while Nok Air’s lowest fare starts at THB840.
Ex-Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok Airways sells an inclusive one-way fare at THB1,490 to Chiang Rai and Thai Smile at THB2,050.
