Wego voted Best Asia/Pacific online travel agency website at TravelMole-ITB Asia Awards

SINGAPORE - Wego.com, the leading travel search site in the Asia Pacific and Middle East, has been voted Best Asia/Pacific Online Travel Agency Website, at the 8th TravelMole - ITB Asia Web Awards 2015.

The award ceremony took place at ITB Asia in Singapore which was attended by over 10,000 travel industry professionals, from 110 countries.

"We're thrilled to receive the award for Best Asia/Pacific Online Travel Agency Website,” said Ross Veitch, CEO and co-founder of Wego. “Even though Wego is not an OTA in the strictest sense, we do appreciate that the category has been widened to allow consideration of travel metas. This award is fabulous recognition for the hard work and continued innovation from everybody at Wego over the last year."

The judging criteria focussed on excellence in online travel, effective online engagement, considering all components which make a website stand out.

Wego received the most votes in the category, which was won by Expedia last year, beating out fellow finalists Kayak and Yatra.

“Singapore has become the centre of the travel world this month, with business leaders and innovators from the travel sector attending ITB Asia, WebInTravel and more at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre,” added Veitch. “It’s been made even more inspiring by receiving this award for Wego, the second in one week, having also won the ‘Content Magician’ category at WebInTravel’s WITovation awards with campaign partner Tourism Australia.”
