HONG KONG - Taking roots in Hong Kong, Hong Kong Airlines is committed to giving back to society through different kinds of activities, showing our care to people from all walks of life. Following "Fly with Faith -- Taipei Tour for Seniors" organized in November, Hong Kong Airlines continues collaboration with Pok Oi Hospital to host the 10th "Triumph Sky High" Junior Programme, inviting teachers and students from Pok Oi Hospital Chan Kwok Wai Primary School to visit airport facilities and board a real aircraft, enhancing their understanding and experience of the local aviation industry. Mrs. Tam Keung May Chu, Winnie, Chairlady of Pok Oi Hospital Board of Directors also joined the group and shared the joy with students. Some students even played the role of captain and cabin crew, learning aviation knowledge under the guidance of Hong Kong Airlines' crew members in a fun way to cultivate their interest in the field.

"Triumph Sky High" Junior Programme has long been Hong Kong Airlines' popular aviation education activity since its launch with overwhelming response from schools and parents. Nearly 400 students from different schools and background have participated in the programme, including those from special schools. Mr. Stanley Kan, Director of Service Delivery of Hong Kong Airlines said, "We are especially pleased to have Chairlady Tam with us today to gain first-hand experience and learn more about the aviation industry with the kids. By having this programme, we target to offer students exposure to the aviation industry, inspire the next generation of aviation talents to join this field in the future."

Students got on board a Hong Kong Airlines A330 aircraft and entered the cockpit for the very first time in their lives

The aviation experience tour debuted with a visit to Hong Kong Airlines' catering service centre and check-in counters at the Hong Kong International Airport. Students were brought behind the scenes to learn how meals are prepared and the daily operation of ground services. The students were then taken onboard a Hong Kong Airlines A330 aircraft. Captain and cabin crew of Hong Kong Airlines shared their aviation knowledge and flight experiences with the students, teaching them some fun facts about flying. Students also learned the structure of cockpit and cabin, experienced Business Class facilities and tried on life jackets. Some students even got dressed as captain and had a great time in cockpit with the real pilots. Little flight attendants performed inflight duties like making passenger announcement and distributing inflight meal. They all found the visit very exciting and expressed the wish of becoming part of the industry when they grow up.

Hong Kong Airlines will continue to hold the "Triumph Sky High" Junior Programme in the coming year to offer more students the exposure to the aviation industry.
