Thailand Privilege Card signs up first sales rep in Myanmar

YANGON - The Thailand Privilege Card Company Limited (TPC), operator of the exclusive Thailand Elite Card membership programme, has appointed Nice Fare Services Company Limited as an Authorized General Sales and Services Agent (GSSA) to grow card membership in Myanmar. The contract is valid until 24 February, 2018.
 
The contract was signed at a grand launch event of the Thailand Elite Card on 10 June, 2016, at The Sedona Hotel Yangon. The event was attended by around 300 people including Myanmar businesspersons, local celebrities, media as well as H.E. Mr. Pisanu Suvanajata, Thailand’s Ambassador to Myanmar, Mrs. Somrak Kumputch, Deputy Governor for Administration, Tourism Authority of Thailand and Mr. Pruet Boobphakam, President of the Thailand Privilege Card.
 
Supported by Thai Airways, MJET, Siam Paragon and Pathumwan Princess, the event received extensive publicity in local mainstream media as well on the social media networks of the participating VIPs.
 
Established in April 2004, Nice Fare Travel Company Limited is a well-known and reputable travel agency and tour operator in Myanmar.
 
The Thailand Privilege Card Project is marketed as the world’s first country life-membership programme that entitles cardholders to a lifetime of privileges at golf courses, spas, hotels, clubs, and medical facilities throughout Thailand, as well as visa privilege. The objective is to attract more high-end visitors, businessmen, investors and long stayers.
 
Myanmar is seen as a promising growth market for card membership.
 
According to preliminary data, Myanmar arrivals to Thailand in 2015 totalled 271,755, up 39 percent over 2014. They generated revenue of 11.21 billion Baht, up 39 percent over 2014. The per capita spending per trip of Myanmar visitors has risen from 22,000 Baht/trip in 2007 to 41,000 Baht/trip in 2015.
 
According to market surveys, in 2015, the top 5 popular activities among Myanmar visitors were enjoying Thai food 94%, nightlife 29%, visiting historical sites 28%, spa and wellness 25%, and medical treatment 20%.
