BANGKOK The Ministry of Tourism and Sports, in collaboration with the private and public sectors, has introduced four shuttle bus routes to serve the general public, who are travelling to Sanam Luang, 17 to 24 October, to pay their respects to the Late His Majesty the King.
Minister of Tourism and Sports, Korbkarn Wattanawarankul, announced free bus services at the weekend.
The Thai Transportation Operators Association, The Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Royal Thai Police will oversee free bus services.
All four routes, start from the National Stadium, Victory Monument (Rajavithi Hospital), Wongwian Yai BTS Station, and the Bangkok Bus Terminal in Talingchan, will allow passengers to disembark at Sanam Luang.
Bus services. during 17 to 24 October. will operate during 0830 to 1500, on an hourly frequency.
Authorities have prepared the area in front of the National Stadium to broadcast the Late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s funeral procession for the general public residing in the central parts of Bangkok or those who cannot travel to pay their respects at the Grand Palace.
