PATA seeks Face of the Future

BANGKOK If you think you are the face of the future, then here is your chances to win an award while changing travel for the better.

Pacific Asia Travel Association announced at the weekend the call for entries for this year’s PATA Face of the Future.

PATA claims this special award recognises the exceptional ‘rising star’ in the travel and tourism industry.

To win the award you have to demonstrate you have exhibited “initiative and leadership in the advancement of tourism, as well as demonstrated commitment to the sustainable development of the Asia Pacific travel industry in line with PATA’s mission”.

inside no 6PATA says submissions are now being accepted until the 17 March deadlines.

The winner will receive a roundtrip economy flight to Negombo, Sri Lanka with accommodation to attend the PATA Awards Presentation that takes place at the PATA Annual Summit 2017.

The Annual Summit brings together thought leaders, Tourism Ministers and leading industry experts to address thought-provoking issues through a one-day conference, the UNWTO/PATA Ministerial Debate, the PATA Annual General Meeting and other high-profile networking events.

The winner will also be invited to join the panel discussion “The real future of tourism: Young Tourism Professionals” to share his/her ideas with other industry leaders and to join the PATA Executive Board as an observer and non-voting member.

What you need to know

An individual is eligible to enter the 2017 PATA ‘Face of the Future’ Award if he or she is:

Age 35 and below as of 21 May, 2017;

Working for a PATA member organisation in good-standing also as of 21 May 2017;

Or undertaking post-graduate travel and tourism studies at a PATA member educational institution.

The finalists will be judged by former PATA Face of the Future Winners, external judges and PATA management.

How to enter

Submit a nomination letter, along with the nominee’s full professional contact details and bio-data with photo (JPG format, 300 dpi resolution, maximum 500 KB total file size), in soft copy only (DOC or PDF file; maximum three pages).
