BANGKOK Travel advisories are warning travellers of the ongoing threat of a terrorist attack in Indonesia in the wake of an incident in Jakarta, 24 May.

Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Smartraveller reported that a suspected suicide bombing took place at the Kampung Melayu bus terminal in East Jakarta killing a number of police officers and injuring bystanders.

The news was overshadowed by the Manchester suicide bomb, Monday evening that killed 22 people and injured 64 people.

Both BBC and CNN reported, late Thursday, that a suspected suicide bomb attack in the Indonesian capital killed at least three police officers and injured 10 people.

There were two blasts about five minutes apart at about 2100 local time near a bus station in Kampung Melayu in the east of the city.

Two suspected attackers also died.

Indonesia has seen a series of low-level attacks since last January, when four attackers killed four people in a gun and bomb attack in central Jakarta.
