SINGAPORE Qantas has teamed up with Destination New South Wales to launch “Meet the Sydneyporeans”, a three-part video mini-series featuring Singaporeans living in Sydney and its suburbs.

The series, due to launch today, will introduce New South Wales through the eyes of the featured Singaporeans, to inspire Singaporeans to travel to Australia.

“Meet the Sydneyporeans” will be launched on www.sydneyporeans.com and Qantas YouTube channel.

The specially developed website also features information about the locations featured in the series so travellers can customize itineraries.

From national parks to urban wineries, the series offers something for every traveler, from adventure seekers, to those seeking family fun or foodie-trails.

Produced by FALCON Agency, the first series of three episodes features a family, a young couple, as well as Sydneyporean, Audra Morrice, popular Master Chef Australia 2012 contestant and more recently a judge on Master Chef Asia in 2015.

In each episode, the Sydneyporeans take viewers on a tour of their favourite spots across New South Wales. In the episode featuring Audra, viewers are taken on a gastronomy trail around Sydney, featuring spots popular with Singaporeans as well as hidden restaurant gems in Sydney’s city fringes.

Qantas senior vice president for Asia and Papua New Guinea, Benjamin Tan, said the campaign taps what the airline is passionate about – championing the spirit of Australia to the world.

“As Australia’s national carrier, we are proud to share with Singaporeans the amazing natural beauty, incredible food and dining scene and popular beach spots in New South Wales.

“We are excited to be working with Destination New South Wales and Audra to help Singaporeans get the most out of their trip to Australia,” Mr Tan added.

Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer, Sandra Chipchase, said Singapore is an important source market for tourism to Sydney and NSW with 120,500 overnight visitors travelling to NSW and staying more than 1.4 million nights during the year ending March 2017.
