ONYX Hospitality Group and Sincere Holdings Group forge partnership for expansion across China

Hong Kong – Thailand-based ONYX Hospitality Group and Sincere Holdings Group, one of the top real estate enterprises in China, announced the formation of a strategic partnership, aiming to boost the serviced apartments market across key Chinese cities.

Under this strategic partnership, Sincere Holdings Group will receive exclusivity rights from ONYX Hospitality Group to develop and open Shama serviced apartments, including those bearing the Shama Luxe and Shama Hub sub-brand names, in 12 key cities across China, namely Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Suzhou, Tianjin, Wuxi and Xiamen.

The first two Shama serviced apartments to be developed as part of this partnership will be in Shanghai – Shama Hongqiao Shanghai in Minhang District and Shama Changfeng Shanghai in Putuo District. Both are slated to open in 2018.

Most recently, Shama was awarded “Best Serviced Apartment Operator of Asia” for the fifth time at the AHF Asia Hotel Awards.

Based in Bangkok, ONYX Hospitality Group has a growing regional portfolio of 44 operating properties across three core brands in eight countries. The group has a robust development pipeline of over 20 new properties in markets such as Australia, Malaysia and Laos, and has set a target of having 99 hotels open by 2024 as part of its journey towards being the best medium-sized hospitality player in the region.
