MANILA, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Former Philippine Tourism Authority head Nixon Kua and his daughter were shot and wounded by unidentified robbers in the Northern Philippine province of Laguna on Saturday night, local police said on Sunday.

Provincial police chief Senior Supt. Gilbert Cruz said the 49- year-old Kua and his daughter were staying in their house in Maunong village, Calamba City when the incident occurred around 8 p.m. Saturday.

He said four suspects barged into the residence, shot Kua and his daughter and grabbed the bag of her before the group escaped, leaving the two wounded victims.

According to Cruz, the bag carted away by the suspects contained 90,000 pesos and an Iphone.

Cruz said a task force, named Task Force Nixon, had been formed to track down the perpetrators and a 100,000 pesos reward is being offered for information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects.
