ASEAN monthly program features Myanmar tourism plans, basketball champions

MANILA, July 23 -- The latest episode of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) program has featured tourism plans of Myanmar and the new ASEAN basketball champions.

A press statement from the ASEAN said the July 2012 edition of “ASEAN Today” provides useful background and perspective on getting in the international hospitality industry, lining up business in Myanmar.

Anchor Dalton Tanonaka talks with U Htay Aung, Deputy Tourism Minister of Myanmar, in the monthly program focusing on the people and places of the ASEAN region.

ASEAN said, also in the July episode is a profile of Filipino fashion designer Dita Sandico-Ong, a visit to a popular snake restaurant in Jakarta, and crowning the new ASEAN basketball champions.

Tanonaka of Indonesia’s Metro TV co-hosts the program from Jakarta, with Nattha Komolvadhin of Thai PBS hosting from Bangkok. Durudee Sirichanya, Head of Public Outreach and Civil Society Division of the ASEAN Secretariat, has this month’s feedback segment.
