Awards honour ASEAN businesses in Vientiane

Vientiane — Awards honoured 86 outstanding ASEAN businesses, people and trademarks at a ceremony in the Lao capital of Vientiane on Saturday.

The event was jointly organised by the Vietnamese ministries of industry and trade and planning and investment; Lao ministries of industry and commerce and information, culture and tourism; Viet Nam Association of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises; Viet Nam Co-operatives Alliance.

In his letter to the ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung said the event would boost solidarity and friendship among regional businesses during global integration.

Lao Minister of Industry and Commerce Nam Vignaket praised business people for helping build a healthy business environment while promoting sustainable socio-economic and cultural development, contributing to celebrating the Laos-Viet Nam Solidarity and Friendship Year 2012. — VNS
