(Forimmediaterelease.net) Everyone involved in the Seychelles’ tourism industry has been invited for a series of industry meetings, which will be led by Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture.

The meeting is being organized by the Ministry of Tourism&Culture and the Seychelles Tourism Board in collaboration with the Seychelles Hospitality and Tourism Association (SHTA), for all members of the industry’s association and also for everyone involved in the tourism trade. The series of the tourism industry meetings are set to be chaired by Minister St.Ange himself, who will have with him Mrs. Elsia Grandcourt, the head of the country’s tourism marketing authority, the Seychelles Tourism Board, as well as board members of the SHTA.

This meeting will be the first time that the Tourism Minister will be meeting with the whole tourism trade since his appointment as Minister, which took place earlier this year.

“The private sector tourism trade, here members and non-members of the industry’s association, are the front-line players of the industry that remains the pillar of the Seychelles economy. This meeting is not only to recognize their importance, but it is also to hear them and for them to better understand the Ministry’s role, for them to appreciate the efforts of the Tourism Board, and to hear about the work the industry’s association undertakes on behalf of the industry. Tourism is the business of every Seychellois and as such, it is important for everyone to understand the need to work for the consolidation of the industry,” Minister Alain St.Ange said.

The tourism industry meetings will take place as combined regional meetings over a few days on Mahe, Praslin, and La Digue. The first meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, September 6, at Le Meridien Barbarons from 1:30 to 4:00 pm for tourism industry members of the south and west of Mahe.

Following the first meeting, tourism trade members from the east, central, and northern regions of Mahe will meet on Friday, September 7, at 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at the National Theatre at Mont Fleuri.

The meeting will continue the following week on Praslin and La Digue. The meeting on Praslin will be held on September 10 from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Tante Mimi Restaurant, while the La Digue meeting will be on September 11 from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon at the District Administration Office.

The meeting will also allow Minister St. Ange to inform and update Seychelles’ tourism members on his ministry’s plan for the industry, and to touch base on the latest happenings of the country’s tourism industry. It will also be used as a platform for the Seychelles Tourism Board to share its marketing plans and projects with the tourism trade.
