Research conducted by Reed Travel Exhibitions has confirmed that 77% of buyer respondents who attended last year’s CIBTM confirmed that they regularly use social media as an events communication tool and 50% stated that they would begin implementing virtual meetings technology within the next 12 months.

In addition to this, 41% of buyers confirmed that they regularly use audience response systems, and a further 30% use mobile apps to provide information for their attendees, highlighting the increasing prominence of technology within the meetings industry in China.

Jeffrey Xu, Reed Travel Exhibitions, CIBTM Project Manager commented, “Over the past few years the use of technology has become more and more widespread within the industry, fuelling interest from our buyers in integrating the latest innovations into their events. CIBTM provides a gateway for international exhibitors looking to enter one of the world’s largest technology markets.”

Ding Jisheng, Senior Business Development Manager, Motorola (China) Electronics Limited who exhibited at CIBTM 2012 commented, “I feel that CIBTM has become a must-attend MICE event which provides a platform for corporate buyers to get first hand industry information and learn more about the latest cutting-edge knowledge. I always expect unique suppliers for meetings and events and CIBTM never lets me down”.

CIBTM, the China Incentives, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition, will hosted this year from 2nd – 4th September at the China National Convention Centre in Beijing. The show provides a gateway for international exhibitors to meet and expand their business into China.
