CIBTM gears up for largest show to date

BEIJING - CIBTM, China's leading meetings, incentives and business travel exhibition, which is set to take place from 2 - 4 September 2013 at the China National Convention Centre, Beijing, China is gearing up for its largest show to date.
Hosted Buyer applications have doubled, (compared to this time last year) as many top level meetings buyers with proven purchasing power sign up to place their business with both regional and international participating exhibitors.
CIBTM has also witnessed a notable increase in the amount of Corporate and Association Trade Visitors who have signed up to attend the show. Jeffrey Xu, CIBTM Project Manager, Reed Travel Exhibitions comments, “The majority of our exhibitors want to meet with associations and corporates as this is where a lot of the big business in the meetings industry lies.
“The quality of trade visitor registrations this year has been very promising, and we are delighted to see such a rise in the the number of Associations and Corporates. We have meetings industry professionals attending from companies including China Society for World Trade Organization, the Chinese Medical Association, CCPIT and the Medical and Health Care Association. These factors combined will definitely enhance the return on investment achieved from meetings buyers and exhibitors who are looking to break into new markets.”
CIBTM has also signed up a number of major Chinese outbound international destinations to exhibit at the show this year including USA, Canada, Italy, Munich, Madrid, Brussels, Switzerland, Vienna, Abu Dhabi, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand, Macau, New Zealand, and Australia.
This follows research which was conducted by Reed Travel Exhibitions following CIBTM 2012, which confirmed that the top ten destinations outside of Asia which buyers identified as key business destinations were USA, Germany, France, UK, Australia, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, UAE (Dubai and Abu Dhabi) and Canada.
Xu concludes, “We have also seen a substantial increase in local meetings suppliers who have signed up which is reflective of the confidence the industry has in CIBTM and the awareness of its potential as a platform which allows all of our suppliers to secure international business.”
Local suppliers who have signed up to date include, Diaoyutai MGM Hotels, Luxemon, Tangla Hotels and Resorts, New Century Hotels & Resort, Ling Nan Hotel & Resort, Wanda Hotels and resort, Lu Neng Hotel & Resort and Sengmen Hotel.
