Besides building schools in poor
communities, we buy educational materials
and supplement the teachers' salaries. We
created a Khmer version of Braille -
publishing school books from the national
curriculum in Braille - and Khmer sign
language. Vocational training in massage,
music, dance, computers and weaving has also
been adapted for students with sight and
hearing disabilities.
Former street children can stabilise
themselves before reintegration into society
in our four temporary reception centres. In
three long-term protection centres, we
provide homes for over 100 orphaned,
abandoned or runaway children under 16. Each
of our 11 family-style homes looks after 10
very young or traumatised children. We also
provide at-risk single women with children
with housing, land and tools.
