NOUMEA - Following the renewal of its inflight product at the end of 2012, national carrier of New Caledonia AirCalin is now looking at improving its connections with new schedules coming for the winter season 2013-14.
From October 27, 2013, The airline will offer every day at least one flight to Noumea out of Paris with a short transit time in Tokyo, Osaka or Seoul. Tokyo will be served four times per week out of Noumea and will be in immediate connections with the flight to Paris. Osaka Kansai will now be linked to Noumea by three weekly frequencies while Seoul will be served by two weekly services. In total, the Paris-Noumea route will be served by nine weekly frequencies.
The partner carriers of AirCalin are Air France, KLM and Finnair. The two last airlines will see their connecting time with AirCalin services considerably reduced. By reshaping its entire schedule to and from France, AirCalin hopes to optimize its load factor. It is particularly optimistic to get a larger share of passengers in Tokyo where AirCalin flight will from now be in immediate connection with Air France Airbus A380.
The new flights for the winter timetable can already been booked. Travel agencies which had previously booked their passengers according to the former timetable are requested to get in touch with AirCalin reservation department where solutions will be found in case of dispute between travel agents and the carrier.
In 2012, AirCalin recorded a turn-over of Euro 149 million while transporting 385,000 passengers and 5,554 tons of freight.
