Cebu Pacific Air Launches ‘Choose Your Island Contest’ in China to Win Holiday for Two in Philippines

The Philippines’ largest national flag carrier, Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) launches its “Choose Your Island” Weibo contest to promote its newest payment method, Alipay, China’s leading third-party online payment solution.
CEB’s newest form of payment makes booking and buying CEB tickets easier for approximately 800 million Alipay account users. Upon reaching the payment page of www.cebupacificair.com, passengers may choose Alipay to log in to their account and proceed with payment. The CEB ticket itinerary will be finalized after a successful payment process.
Travelers can join CEB’s “Choose Your Island Contest” through CEB’s official Sina Weibo portal (e.weibo.com/cebupacificair), with winners being treated to a free holiday for two to their dream island destination in the Philippines.
The airline will hold three week-long contests on their Weibo page on the following dates: July 30-August 7, September 21-27 and November 23-29, 2013. For each “Choose Your Island” contest, CEB will highlight three Philippine islands through postcards.
Those who wish to join simply have to choose their favorite island postcard, and share it on their own Weibo wall. The promotion is open to all Chinese passport holders living in China, aged at least 18. They must also be registered followers of CEB’s official Weibo page.
All Weibo users who posted the most shared island postcard on their wall are eligible to win the free holiday to their chosen island destination, via electronic raffle.
The free holiday for two people consists of all-inclusive roundtrip tickets to their winning island destination, three nights hotel accommodation with breakfast, airport transfers and even visa assistance. Voters who chose other islands also stand a chance to win a loot bag of exclusive CEB merchandise.
From July 30 to August 7, 2013, CEB features the following island destinations: Boracay, Cebu and Iloilo. Boracay was named as the 2012 Travel + Leisure Magazine’s World’s Best Island, while Iloilo is home to some of the Philippines most iconic heritage spots. Cebu, located at the center of the country, is known for its diverse marine life, spectacular dive sites and the vibrant Sinulog Festival held every January.
Cebu Pacific Air’s VP for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog said: “This contest aims to increase awareness about our off-the-beaten-track destinations, and raise the Philippines’ profile among Chinese travelers as an alternative tropical paradise. Through our Weibo page, we hope to engage more fans through ongoing promotions and the lowest fares to the Philippines.”
Winners will be announced on CEB’s official Weibo page after the contest period, and notified through their Weibo-registered email. The holiday can be redeemed anytime until 15 March 2014, except for the embargo periods 24 October to 06 November 2013 and 12 December 2013 to 07 January 2014.
