Royal Brunei returns to HCMC

HO CHI MINH CITY, 30 July 2014: Royal Brunei Airlines plans to resume flights to Ho Chi Minh City with four weekly services starting 17 October this year.
Flights to Ho Chi Minh City were halted in October 2011.
The airline’s deputy chairman, Dermot Mannion, said a commercial team has completed route studies and this will ensure the airline can create a new service that will connect passengers to other flights through its home-base in Brunei.
“In their latest studies, Ho Chi Minh City has emerged a frontrunner that can provide us with connecting traffic for key routes to Melbourne, Dubai and London and also for regional destinations such as Kota Kinabalu,” he said.
“We are delighted to include Ho Chi Minh City, an exciting holiday and business destination, to our network.”
The resumption of Ho Chi Minh City flights will also create more holiday options for the travelling Bruneians.
“For both RB’s regional customers in Kota Kinabalu, and for long-haul customers especially from Melbourne, Dubai and London… can combine their travel with a stop in Brunei and then to Ho Chi Minh City,” he said.
Using an Airbus A319, the upcoming flights will operate to Ho Chi Minh on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays while on Sundays the flight will use an Airbus A320.
