Thai Airways International (THAI) has finally launched its first Airbus A380 flights to London, almost two years after they were initially intended to start.
The new service, flight TG910 from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport to London Heathrow, touched down in the UK recently, and passengers were greeted at the gate by traditional British Beefeaters and Guardsmen. A traditional Thai dance performance was also held to mark the occasion.
“This has been a great way to mark the UK’s first direct A380 flights to Bangkok, auguring a new era of travel in the UK,” said Wit Kitchathorn, THAI’s general manager for the UK. “As always we are immensely proud of our service, and doubly so now that we are the only airline offering A380… direct travel between London and Bangkok.”

The new service will operate daily, departing Suvarnabhumi at 0110 and arriving at Heathrow’s Terminal 2 at 0715. The return service will then leave at 1230, arriving back into Bangkok at 0545 the following day.
THAI’s A380 offers 507 seats in three classes, including 12 seats in first class, 60 in business class and 435 in economy. All premium seats recline to form fully-flat beds.
THAI originally intended to deploy the A380 on its London route in 2013, but a series of delays pushed back this launch date. The Thai national carrier is one of only three airlines offering direct Bangkok-London flights, along with British Airways and EVA Air.
