Vietjet enjoys a stellar performance in 2015

SINGAPORE - Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (Vietjet) enjoyed positive growth in 2015. The airline posted a total growth rate of 205% in 2015, compared to 2014, with a total revenue of VND10.9 trillion (US$490.7 million), meeting the company’s target.  
 
Vietjet continued to build its fleet in 2015, receiving a total of 11 Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, an average of one new aircraft each month. More than 9.3 million passengers were transported by the airline, an impressive increase of 66% compared with 2014.
 
The airline reached a technical reliability rate of 99.65% in 2015, the highest among Vietnam based airlines operating Airbus A320s. Vietjet also received a Certificate of Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) from the International Air Transportation Association (IATA) for its outstanding operational standards in the first quarter of 2015. Only 16% of the world’s total operation airlines have been granted this certification.
 
The airline’s training center, which opened in early 2015, has so far trained and certified over 7,500 staff, as well as providing 635 training courses in aviation skills for employees.
 
In 2015, Vietjet continued to expand its domestic and international network to 44 routes (28 domestic and 12 international) with a total fleet of 32 brand new Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft.
 
In 2016, Vietjet has set a target of transporting 15 million passengers and will continue to expand its domestic and international networks.
