PPCBank customers will soon enjoy access to the Diners Club International card, after the two institutions signed a franchise agreement yesterday.
PPCBank and Diners Club International signed a memorandum of understanding earlier this year that paved the way to yesterday’s agreement.
Under the recently inked partnership, PPCBank will issue ‘Diners Club Cambodia’ cards to customers, with the first cards due to be handed out in the beginning of 2019, according to a joint press release.
DCI cards are credit cards that can be used at 28 million merchants in more than 190 countries, and give holders – also known as ‘club members’ – access to numerous benefits, from access to airport lounges to offers at some of the finest hotels in the world.
PPCBank president Shin Chang Moo said his institution is always on the lookout for opportunities to introduce new and innovative products and service that cater to local tastes.
“Cambodia is a fascinating country and the economy has continued to grow steadily with a marked increase in income levels.
“With the recent emerging trend in mobile financial services, people’s behavior and perspectives towards spending money have changed dramatically. People are now willing to spend more on quality products and services, instead of spending less for ones that fall short of their expectations and needs.
