The second fishing season starts today, and will run until Jan 17, with the Fisheries Administration calling on prahok and pha’ak producers to buy fish in designated areas along the Tonle Sap River.
“Fishing areas along the Tonle Sap River in Phnom Penh and Kandal province are open from January 11 to January 17,” a statement from the Fisheries Administration noted.
Generally speaking, there are two high seasons for catching fish in Cambodia. One falls in December, and the other in January.
