Pi Pay and RHB Bank team up

Pi Pay yesterday inked yet another partnership with a financial institution to expand the reach of its digital payment services in the Kingdom.

The local cashless payment gateway and RHB Indochina Bank have teamed up, allowing RHB account holders to pay for goods and services wherever Pi Pay is accepted.

RHB account holders can instantly transfer funds from a mobile banking app account to a Pi Pay wallet.

Speaking at the partnership signing ceremony, Pi Pay CEO Tomas Pokorny said his company has quickly become the leading cashless payment provider in Cambodia since launching in 2017, and merchants continue to add Pi Pay payment services to support customer needs and demands.

He said the new partnership is yet another example of Pi Pay seeking to expand Cambodia’s cashless landscape and to facilitate payments for goods and services.

“To this end, we are always looking to make it as convenient as possible for users to add money to their Pi Pay wallets.

“This has seen us steadily partner with financial institutions including ABA Bank, Sathapana, and AMK – with others to be announced shortly – and I am very happy to add RHB Bank as our first Malaysian bank to this list today.

He said Pi Pay’s vision is to allow everyone in Cambodia to access secure and convenient cashless payments, a vision shared with RHB, who also seeks to use technology to boost financial inclusion in Cambodia.

“Malaysian banks are well respected and well regulated, and this partnership is a sign of their trust in Cambodia, and Pi Pay.

“Working with some of the most professional and visionary financial partners, banks and microfinance institutions – who know the communities in which they work and the services they need – helps make cashless payments more accessible,” Mr Pokorny added.
