Confirel to sell salt to French brand

Local firm Confirel will sell 100 tonnes of organic salt products to France-based Le Guerandais.

Confirel says the order will boost recognition of Cambodian salt across the world.

The shipment will take place in upcoming days, Hay Ly Eang, chairman of Confirel, told Khmer Times yesterday.

“Our salt has good quality. That is why a big company like Le Guerandais is interested in our products,” Mr Ly Eang said.

“The fact that Le Guerandais buys our products shows that our salt is some of the best in the country,” Mr Ly Eang said. “This may just be a small shipment, but we hope it will open the doors for larger orders. We hope it will allow consumers in Europe to appreciate the quality of our salt.”

He said Le Guerandais sells its products in 60 countries around the world, which will help introduce Cambodian salt in new markets.
