PATA 60th Anniversary Ceremony to Be Held in Beijing

The 60th anniversary ceremony of Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) will be held in Beijing on April 11, 2011.About 1000 delegates from 66 countries and regions and over 400 organizations will gather in the capital of China for the celebration of PATA's 60th Anniversary and Conference from April 9 to 12.

Themed as "Building Tourism: Past. Present. Progressive", in different plenary meetings the delegates will have a deep discussion on the history of tourism industry, the challenges and opportunities people are facing and how tourism industry is influenced by technology, population structure and people's lifestyle.

Eric Anderson, cofounder and chairman of a USA-based space tourism company Space Adventures will also talk about the possibilities for ordinary people to have space adventures in the near future.The organizing committee also designed 26 tourism trips for the delegates to enjoy the charm of Beijing.

As one of the three largest tourism organizations in the world, PATA is a membership association acting as a catalyst for the responsible development of the Asia Pacific travel and tourism industry. China joined PATA in 1993 and held its annual meeting and trade fair in Beijing in 1997.
