A part of Northern Winter operational adjustments, Singapore Airlines has announced it will add a fourth daily service into Perth to meet market demand.

Commencing 16 August this year and running through to March 2013, the extra flight per day is among a range of adjustments to the carrier’s network that will see capacity increases on several routes as well as reductions on others.

The carrier’s flights into Melbourne will also receive an increase over the Northern Winter, with the airline utilising its A380 on two of the three daily flights between Singapore and the Australian city, up from the current one.

India, Mumbai services will also increase to 21 per week from 19 per week from the start of the Northern Winter Season in October this year while its daily Hong Kong flights which continue on to San Francisco will be served by the A380 instead of the Boeing 777-330 ER from 28 December this year to 24 March next year.

An extra A380 service will also be added on flights to Tokyo Narita increasing the superjumbo service to twice daily from one.

Meanwhile frequency from Milan, Italy and Barcelona, Spain will reduce from seven times per week to five while Singapore to Istanbul services will be cut to four from five.

Earlier this month the Singaporean carrier announced it had carried a 12 percent higher passenger load in June this year compared to the same month last year.
