Taiwanese carrier EVA Air announced it will begin a code-share partnership with United Airlines in an effort to boost passenger arrivals from the US.
The initial stage of the partnership will allow EVA Air passengers in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle connect with UA domestic flights to Houston and Cleveland under the same flight code.
In addition, UA passengers will be able to fly EVA Air to Taipei, the airline said.
EVA Air currently operates 35 round-trip flights per week from Taipei to Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle as well as five round-trip flights per week from Taipei to New York.
The airline forecasts a 20 percent increase in passenger numbers as it looks to join membership of the Star Alliance group next year.
