BRISBANE, Australia, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Flights at Brisbane Airport in Australia's Queensland are expected to be delayed after a false alarm sparked a mass evacuation at the airport, local media reported Monday.
The fire alarms at the airport went off before 8:30 a.m. local time on Monday and all passengers and staff at the airport were evacuated, the Australian Associated Press (AAP) reported.
A spokeswoman for Brisbane Airport Corporation told AAP that it was a false alarm.
"We are having to rescreen everyone," she said.
"It's not clear at this stage but there may be flight delays."
The company is investigating the cause of the false alarm, the spokeswoman said.
