The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) today issued its Air Travel Consumer Report for July showing that Hawaiian Airlines scored the airline industry’s top rankings for on-time performance and fewest complaints during one of the busiest travel months of the year.
Hawaiian’s flights arrived on time throughout July at a rate of 89.6 percent, exceeding the industry average by 13.6 percentage points, to earn the #1 ranking in the DOT report.
Hawaiian also earned the industry’s best score for July in the category of consumer complaints with a rate of 0.23 complaints for every 100,000 passengers. The DOT recorded only two complaints about Hawaiian compared to the nearly 884,000 passengers the airline carried for the month.
In addition, Hawaiian ranked second in the category of fewest canceled flights during July, with 12 cancellations out of 6,769 total flights for a rate of 0.2 percent.
Hawaiian provides daily nonstop service to Hawai‘i from 11 gateway cities in North America – more cities than any other carrier – using Airbus A330-200 and Boeing 767-300 aircraft, making it the only carrier to offer wide-body, twin-aisle aircraft for all transpacific flights.
Hawai‘i’s largest and longest-serving carrier is also the leading provider of air service between the islands of Hawai‘i.
