China Southern Airlines Operates A380 from Los Angeles to Guangzhou

As of October 12, 2012 China Southern Airlines will be operating an Airbus A380 daily from Los Angeles to Guanzhou

China Southern Airlines (CZ) is proud to be operating an Airbus A380 on its direct route between Los Angeles and Guangzhou. This is a major achievement for the CZ Los Angeles office, as it reflects China Southern’s strength and commitment to its passengers.

To enhance customer experience and to renew its brand, China Southern will be operating a fully equipped Airbus A380 with eight First Class suites, 70 Business Class seats, and 428 economy seats on the direct flights between Los Angeles and Guangzhou starting October 12, 2012. The A380 is the new flagship in air travel as it is the world’s largest double-decker aircraft with an enormous length of 72.23 meters, width of 79.15 meters and height of 24.07 meters. The new aircraft is more fuel efficient as it only consumes 3 liters a seat per 100km which is equal to that of a standard passenger car, it is also proudly fitted with lightest jet engines of any passenger aircraft. The A380 is furnished with a new high efficiency air circulation system which recycles the air every three minutes to keep a fresh atmosphere. To ensure a pleasurable experience, passengers can enjoy over 600 hours of entertainment and relish customizable light modes. First class and Business class passengers will also be able to luxuriate with noise-cancelling headphones, power sockets, USB connection, as well as have access to fully stocked mini bars. The new Economy class offers passengers wider seats that recline up to six inches and each seat has a high-resolution nine inch entertainment system. To utilize the A380 even further, China Southern has specially trained its crew to offer all passengers a first-rate level of service.

Since the opening of the Los Angeles office in 1997, China Southern has always strived to build its foundation in the US market. As of March 28, 2011, China Southern introduced direct daily flights between Los Angeles and Guangzhou. Also, in 2011, China Southern transported 80 million passengers, which was the largest amount in Asia, and third for the world. China Southern operates 1930 daily flights to 175 destinations in 34 countries and regions, and that reach is extended to 983 destinations in 178 countries and regions as a member of Skyteam. Not only is China Southern Airlines Asia’s largest carrier, it is also ranked top three in the world in terms of fleet size.
