(Forimmediaterelease.net) The Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, Mr. Alain St.Ange, on a working visit to Belgium was received yesterday by HE Mr. Denis Mathen, the Governor for the Province of Namur in Belgium.
Minister St.Ange, who was being accompanied by the Seychelles Ambassador to Belgium, Miss Vivianne Fock Tave, and Mr. Philippe De Baets, the island’s Honorary Consul General in Brussels, was received at the “Palais du Gouverneur” in the Place Saint Aubain in the city center of Namur, Belgium.
HE Governor Mathen thanked the Seychelles Minister for making time to visit the Hotel School of Namur and for accepting to work with the authorities of the Province of Namur to develop an MOU to pave the way for a long-term relationship between Belgium and Seychelles.
Points raised in the discussions were cultural exchanges between Belgium and more precisely Namur and the Seychelles, the participation by Belgium at the 2013 edition of the Carnaval International de Victoria with a delegation by the “eschassiers de Namur” (walking on stilts), hotel school cooperation, among many other points.
Minister St.Ange presented HE Governor Mathen with a copy of the Seychelles Coffee Table Book “Seychelles, Enters the World of Carnival” and a Tourism Board new USB Key in the form of the island’s unique coco de mer.
“The friendly ties that exist between Belgium and Seychelles will be further enhanced by this courtesy visit on HE the Governor of the Province of Namur, Belgium. The meeting was cordial and HE the Governor spared no effort to show his desire to further strengthen the existing relation between Seychelles and the Province of Namur in Belgium. We used the opportunity of the visit to the Palais du Gouverneur and of the meeting to formally invite HE the Governor to visit Seychelles and to lead a working delegation to Seychelles,” said Minister Alain St.Ange.
Mr. Philippe Bultot, the Province of Namur Provincial Elected Representative in charge of the Education portfolio; Mr. Philippe Monfils, the Belgium Minister of State; Mr. Jean-Marc Van Espen, the Province of Namur Provincial Elected Representative responsible for Tourism, Environment, Technical Services, and Agriculture; and Mr. Christian Hebrant, the Province of Namur Governor’s Office Chef De Cabinet were all part of the official Belgium delegation during the discussions between Minister Alain St.Ange and HE Mr. Denis Mathen, Governor of the Province of Namur Belgium.
