New Zealand Beckons Visitors From Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 (Bernama) -- Tourism New Zealand has joined hands with Malaysia Airlines and Auckland International Airport to promote the 'Land of the Maoris' at affordable prices.

Themed 'Discover Your 100% Pure New Zealand Road Trip', the collaboration offers Malaysians the chance to visit various attractions in New Zealand.

"We're confident that travellers will find great value and savings in the many offers promoted through this joint campaign," Malaysia Airlines regional senior vice-president for Malaysia and Asean, Muzammil Mohamad said in a statement.

The campaign features attractive all-inclusive return Kuala Lumpur-Auckland airfares from RM3,199 as well as unique holiday packages to New Zealand.

Tourism New Zealand regional manager for South and Southeast Asia, Mischa Mannix-Opie said that in the year ending August 2012, the number of visitors from Malaysia to New Zealand increased by 15.8 per cent to 34,480, of which 67 per cent visited for the purpose of a holiday.

Malaysia Airlines currently flies six times weekly to Auckland using the Boeing 777-200 plane with a capacity of 278 seats.
