Tiger Australia returns to Adelaide

01 Nov 2012  2037 | Business & Trade Fairs

Tiger Airways Australia has resumed flights to Adelaide, marking a welcome return to the South Australian market, in time for the peak holiday and Adelaide festival season.

Tiger will operate two daily return services from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport, providing 5000 seats through Adelaide Airport each week.

Daily flights depart Melbourne at 8:30am and 5pm and return respectively from Adelaide at 9:50am and 6:20pm.

Tiger Airways operations in Adelaide were shut down in August 2011 due to commercial reasons.

“We are a volume based business and fly where consumer demand dictates,” Tiger Airways Australia head of marketing and communications Vanessa Regan said.

“We continue to talk to our tourism and airport partners as well as listen to our customers and collectively this will help decide the destinations we will fly to next.”

Earlier this week, Virgin Australia announced the acquisition of a 60 percent stake in Tiger Australia and a $62.5 million joint venture to spur future growth of the low-cost carrier.
