PATA to host China Responsible Tourism Forum

06 Nov 2012  2039 | Business & Trade Fairs

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) will host the second China Responsible Tourism Forum (CRTF) this month.

Taking place at the Parkview Hotel in Shanghai on 16 November 2012, the event will aim to update delegates on current responsible tourism policies and research, review best practices and identify emerging issues and factors affecting sustainability in the travel industry.

Running under the theme ‘Sustainable Innovation, Sustainable Travel, Sustainable Business’, this year’s CRTF has been co-branded as the China-ASEAN Tourism Development Forum.

“We were heartened by the positive feedback for the first forum that took place in Beijing in December last year. PATA is committed to facilitate the exchange of best practices to help, protect and preserve Chinese heritage and culture while responsibly developing tourism. We will develop the China Responsible Tourism Forum as an annual premier sustainable tourism conference in China,” said PATA CEO, Martin Craigs.

The event will also include the China Responsible Tourism Awards, designed to honour best practice in sustainability, ecotourism, cultural and heritage tourism.
