Japan Airlines and Bangkok Airways will offer travellers a smoother transit through Japan and Thailand with the commencement of their codeshare agreement on select flights starting 15 November 2012.
Flights between three airports in Japan and Bangkok operated by Japan Airlines, as well as between Bangkok and four points within the region on Bangkok Airways will carry the codeshare agreement.
The agreement includes a reciprocal mileage tie-up that will allow members of their respective mileage programs to redeem tickets on either airline.
Japan Airline’s executive officer of alliances Tsutomu Ando said the agreement creates a more comprehensive network, providing a wider range of mileage-redemption options.
?Bangkok Airway’s senior vice president Peter Wiesner commented on the new partnership as an opportunity to attract more tourists, especially Japanese, to Thailand’s key destinations.
?"We believe this partnership will offer a unique service for Japan Airlines passengers and will strengthen Bangkok Airways' extensive network as well as boosting tourism in Asia," Mr Wiesner concluded.
