Delta to Extend Full Flat-Bed Service beyond Los Angeles to New York

Delta Air Lines will introduce industry leading products and services on transcontinental flights operating between Los Angeles and New York. These new services are designed to meet the needs of travelers flying between Australia and New York.  Starting from March 30, 2013, these transcontinental flights will connect to Delta-operated daily nonstop service between Sydney and Los Angeles, offering a superior and seamless travel experience throughout the journey.

The new transcontinental product features full flat-bed BusinessElite seats with direct aisle access in a 1-2-1 configuration.  They have a seat length of up to 81 inches and a 10.6 inch in-flight entertainment monitor.  

The Sydney - Los Angeles flight is operated with Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, featuring full-flat BusinessElite seats, Economy Comfort with more recline and legroom and audio video on demand on all Economy seats. BusinessElite customers enjoy a fully flat, six-foot and three-inch bed with direct aisle access in an angled 1-2-1 configuration, a five-course menu offering culinary creations by celebrity chef Michelle Bernstein, a wine selection by Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson, an extensive library of movies, TV shows, music and games offered on personal in-seat touch screens, full-size pillows and quilted duvets.

Delta has transformed coast-to-coast travel with its transcontinental BusinessElite class, offering the same service elements as on long-haul international routes, including a gourmet three-course menu from renowned chef Michael Chiarello paired with a wine menu selected by Andrea Robinson, an advanced inflight entertainment system, full-size pillows and duvets.
