Movember gains Mo-mentum in Singapore with Qantas Mo

Qantas has thrown its support behind Movember in
Singapore, unveiling a brand new Movember look for their Customer Service desk at
Changi Airport’s Terminal 1. The desk has been transformed by a giant Mo (or
moustache) hanging overhead and a graphic wrapping the desk explaining the
‘principles’ of Movember. The eye-catching installation will be displayed until the end of
the month, adding Singapore to Qantas’s Movember support in Australia.

Movember has launched for the first time in Asia in Singapore and Hong Kong this year
and aims to raise much needed funds and awareness around prostate cancer, the third

most common cancer amongst men in Singapore. Funds raised by the Movember campaign in Singapore are donated to the Singapore Cancer Society.
Nick McGlynn, Qantas Regional General Manager said, “Qantas is pleased to be able to help raise awareness for these important men’s mental issues, and we’re delighted to be lending our support for Movember’s first official year here in Singapore. I’d like to thank Changi Airport Group for helping us make this possible.”

Qantas is also involved in the Movember Australia campaign for the second consecutive year and it is an extension of the airlines’ partnership with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Earlier this month, the Australian rugby team - Qantas Wallabies unveiled a Boeing 737-800 aircraft sporting a giant moustache that will fly around the country during November to raise awareness of prostate cancer and men’s mental health.

In addition, to raise awareness of prostate cancer and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment, Qantas also installed a giant Mo on the interior of Melbourne Domestic Airport.

Movember encourages men (MoBros) to grow a Mo during the month of November to raise funds and help change established habits and attitudes men have about their health, to educate men about the health risks they face, and to act on that to increase the chances of early detection, diagnosis and effective treatment.
