THAI’s Second A380 Arrives in Bangkok as a Goodwill Flight with Medical Equipment as Special Cargo

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) and the Airbus Corporate Foundation have transported medical equipment aboard the delivery flight of THAI’s second Airbus A380 that is royally bestowed the name “Mancha Khiri,” which arrived in Bangkok earlier today. In addition to the medical equipment, the Airbus Foundation also provided a monetary donation of 50,000 Euros to the Thai Red Cross as a contribution for the support of its children’s home in Bangkok.

The medical equipment delivered on the aircraft is destined for the Veterans General Hospital in Bangkok. The supplies were donated by the Toulouse University Hospital in France through French charity organisation Aviation Sans Frontières and included respirators, electrocardiograph (ECG) monitors, plus an extensive range of medical aid kits.

Altogether, THAI has ordered six A380s. The aircraft delivered today will join the first aircraft that initially operated from Bangkok to Hong Kong. In December, THAI will begin long-haul daily flights with the aircraft from Bangkok to Frankfurt.
