Singapore Airlines, Virgin America code share

Singapore Airlines has signed a new code share agreement with Virgin America for increased access to cities across the United States.

Under the new arrangement, Singapore Airlines will add its SQ code on Virgin America flights to Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Philadelphia, Portland, San Diego, Seattle and Washington DC from Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Singapore Airlines acting senior vice president sales and marketing Chin Yau Seng said the new agreement allowed for better services to one of the carrier’s most important markets.

Tickets for the codeshare are on sale now, for travel from 19 December 2012.
Last week, the Singaporean carrier announced it would terminate its connection to UK carrier, Virgin Atlantic, selling its 49 percent stake to Delta Air Lines.
