Korean Air Sponsors the ITTF 2013 World Tour Korean Open

Korean Air announced today that the company will sponsor the 2013 World Tour Korean Open, a world tournament hosted by International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and co-organised by the Korea Table Tennis Association (KTTA). This year marks the 13th anniversary of the international competition for professional table tennis players.

The ITTF 2013 World Tour Korean Open will kick off on 3 April, 2013 at the Songdo Global University Campus which is located in the city of Incheon. 236 players from 16 countries will join the 5-day World Championship.

As a special highlight this year, the top ranking players of Korea and China will team up and participate in the Men Doubles as a team. This is the first time for players from the two countries to double at the international competition, thanks to the continued efforts of Yang Ho Cho, Chairman of the Korea Table Tennis Association, who has been actively exchanging ideas and skills with the Chinese Table Tennis Association.

Korean Air is committed to supporting a wide variety of sports. The company sponsors and runs a female table tennis team as well as a male speed skating team of its own. Korean Air is also devoted to supporting renowned athletes such as Yu-Na Kim, Tae-Hwan Park and Yeon-Jae Son through its ‘Excellence Program’ which contributes to the talent development for sportsmanship
