Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) marks the Thai New Year Songkran Festival with special activities, which includes traditional water blessing, special Thai menus on board, and souvenirs for passengers.
Dr. Sorajak Kasemsuvan, THAI President, said during this Songkran period THAI will hold special activities on 10-13 April 2013 at the check-in counter at Suvarnabhumi Airport, with traditional water blessing, Thai fruit carving demonstration, and Thai music performances by THAI staff for Royal First Class and Royal Silk Class passengers in the Royal First Lounge and Royal Silk Lounge. Passengers traveling international flights in Royal First Class will receive a special One Tambol One Product (OTOP) souvenir in a box that contains Thong Muan treats (thin biscuit rolls from Suphanburi province), Khao Tan rice cracker topped with palm sugar from Chiang Mai, Thai Sweet Peanut Bar and Thai Sweet Sesame Bar from Petchaburi province.
Mr. Teerapol Chotichanapibal, THAI Executive Vice President, Products & Customer Services, said that passengers who fly THAI flights during 12-14 April 2013 will be served meals specially designed by Chef Nooror Somany Steppe of Blue Elephant Restaurant for this special period.? ????
Passengers who travel on all international flights departing from Bangkok with lunch and dinner meal service will be served prawn mango salad and chicken curry with green mango, along with Thai Jasmine white rice. For dessert, mango pudding panna cotta will be served.
Passengers who travel on all domestic flights departing from Bangkok will be served a variety of special Thai desserts, such as mango mousse topped with sticky rice for passengers traveling in Royal Silk Class and sweet mung bean topped with coconut milk for passengers traveling Economy Class. Passengers traveling in Royal Silk Class on flights returning to Bangkok will be served Lodchong Mousse (coconut milk mousse dessert) and passengers traveling Economy Class will be served Lodchong Jelly (coconut milk jelly).
