BANGKOK, 25 April 2013: Chiang Mai-based Kan Air offers passengers who collect 10 boarding passes a free one-way fare on of its routes.
Boarding passes must be in a single passenger’s name, for travel on standard fares, while the offer remains open until 31 March 2014.
Kan Air allows just two free ticket holders per flight during public holidays.
To get the free tickets passengers hand over 10 boarding passes at the airline’s ticket counter at Chiang Mai airport its home base from where it serves northern cities.
Kan Air operates flights to ex-Chiang Mai to Pai, Nan, Mae Hong Son and Phitsanulok. It used to offer a flight from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai, but cancelled the flight late last year due to a lack of passengers. The distance is only 205 km between the two cities and air-conditioned buses do the trip in three hours for a fare of around Bt300.
