All Nippon Airways (ANA) will return its Boeing 787 Dreamliner to service next month, while introducing the aircraft on new international routes.
Boeing gained US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval for its Dreamliner’s redesigned battery last month, following the completion of certification test flights.
From 1 June 2013, Dreamliner’s will join ANA’s summer schedule, resulting in partial amendments to flight schedules for international and domestic services.
The Japanese carrier’s 787’s will also be placed on3 new international routes; Narita to Beijing and Shanghai and Haneda to Taipei.
ANA experienced issues with the Dreamliner less than a year after purchase.
“ANA’s priority is the safety of our passengers. Our engineers have worked closely with Boeing to undertake the required improvements and we are fully satisfied with the safety of our 787 fleet,” ANA president and chief executive Osamu Shinobe said.
