ASEAN-Japan Socio-Cultural Association’s Research Outcome Disseminated

AKP Phnom Penh, September 02, 2013 –
Cambodia hosted here on Aug. 31 at the Royal University of Phnom Penh the 3rd ASEAN-Japan conference to disseminate the ASEAN-Japan Socio-Cultural Association’s research outcome.
The event was presided over by Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Kumamaru Yuji and attended by representatives from various countries including Cambodia, Japan, Vietnam and Indonesia as well as Cambodian students.
On the occasion, Ms. Loch Leaksmi, President of the ASEAN-Japan Socio-Cultural Association, said the purpose of this 3rd conference was to disseminate theASEAN-Japan society and economy as well as to recall the value of culture, history and achievements obtained by the ASEAN Member States and Japan.
The event was also aimed to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Japan and the 40th anniversary ofASEAN-Japan, she added.
For his part, the Japanese diplomat expressed his strong belief that the meeting would help strengthening the relationship between ASEAN and Japan, particularly in the fields of diplomacy, politics, economy, culture and human resource development.
